Whether you’re looking for overall toning or want more definition in areas of your body, Aesthetics 360 Lash & MedSpa offers state-of-the-industry solutions like Emsculpt. Our medical spa in Parker, CO, is staffed with licensed, trained aestheticians who take pride in helping guests look and feel their best.

Among our selections for body sculpting and contouring is Emsculpt®.

What is Emsculpt?

Emsculpt is an FDA-approved, high-tech body sculpting technology that stimulates muscles contractions in targeted areas of the body. Using a hand-held device, an aesthetician directs the electromagnetic energy to problem areas like abs and buttocks. This triggers the same mechanism within your body that supports muscle development and burns fat.

Best of all, this procedure is painless and non-invasive. There’s no cutting, healing, or downtime. In fact, aside from some minor swelling and redness, there are hardly any side effects at all. You can be in and out of our office within an hour and back to your normal routine.

How Emsculpt Works

This technique works by using high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to mimic the effects of a moderate workout. Emsculpt does so by initiating supramaximal contractions to stimulate muscle growth and fat reduction. These rapid, continuous contractions help your body to build and sculpting muscle mass. A side-effect of building muscle is simultaneous fat burning.

Think of it as a one-two punch that will help someone near their goal weight to achieve a leaner, more defined body.

However, Emsculpt is not a weight loss solution. It uses technology to trigger the body’s own fat burning mechanisms while toning and sculpting specific areas of the body. When administered in conjunction with an overall fitness and nutrition plan, you’ll be well on your way to having the body you’ve always wanted in no time.

Am I a Good Candidate for Emsculpt?

The ideal candidate for Emsculpt Body Contouring is someone within 10 – 20 pounds of their ideal weight who needs a little firming and muscle definition. You should also have a body mass index (BMI) of below 30, be in general good health, and willing to follow basic post-treatment instructions.

Keep in mind that while results of your treatment are permanent, this procedure will not prevent similar issues in the future. It is, however, a great way to achieve a firmer, more youthful silhouette when used in coordination with an optimal diet and health and beauty services at our medspa.

This technology is relatively safe for most people, with minimal risks and side-effects. However, Emsculpt is mot right for everyone.

Postpone this treatment or ask about alternatives if you:

  • • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • • Have a pacemaker
  • • Have metal implants in the treatment area

Overall, Emsculpt is an effective treatment that can help reduce fat and tone muscle. The procedure is relatively short, taking about 30 minutes per session, and you can return to your normal activities immediately. It’s recommended that the treatment take place over 4 – 6 sessions, which can be spaced about 2 – 3 days apart.

It’s important to follow the pre-procedure instructions and to make sure you discuss any concerns with your aesthetician before your first session.

What to Expect From Your First Emsculpt Session

The first thing we’ll need to do before scheduling your Emsculpt appointment is conduct a thorough consultation with one of our trained aestheticians. This consists of a one-on-one meeting with your care provider, during which we’ll discuss your beauty goals and expectations. We’ll also review your medical history, answer your questions, and address any concerns

Once that’s all clear, we’ll schedule your first appointment for Emsculpt. It’s necessary to schedule for a different day than your consultation as you will need to take certain precautions before the procedure to ensure optimal results.

These include:

  • • Avoiding heavy meals the day of treatment
  • • Abstaining from alcohol use for 24 hours
  • • Avoiding any blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, for 24 – 48 hours

Make sure that you arrive about 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Wear loose-fitting clothing and refrain from applying makeup, lotions, and other cosmetic or personal hygiene products.

Just before the treatment, you will be asked to remove any clothing or jewelry that could interfere with the treatment. Once you’re undressed and comfortable on the treatment table, your aesthetician will apply a conductive gel to the treatment area.

The handheld device will then deliver the high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy to the targeted muscle groups, causing them to contract and release in a rapid, continuous manner. This process mimics the same type of muscle contractions you experience when working out, minus the sweat and time-consumption.

You should be able to return to your normal activities immediately upon leaving our facility.

Keep in mind that building muscle takes time even when the process is supercharged by technology. Your results will become apparent about two weeks after your final session. Maintaining your physique is a simple matter of booking a touchup session once or twice a year.

Benefits of Body-Shaping With Emsculpt

Emsculpt isn’t a miracle cure for flabby butts and abs, but it is great for overall toning and definition. One of the major benefits of Emsculpt is that it’s completely non-invasive. This treatment can give you similar results to procedures like liposuction without the associated downtime and risk.

Instead, it targets and strengthens the abdominal muscles to produce a more defined and toned stomach. The treatment also helps to minimize the appearance of love handles and improves the overall shape and contour of the midsection.

Emsculpt is also great for targeting and strengthening the glutes, resulting in a more toned and lifted appearance of the buttocks. This is an especially beneficial solution for those who have lost volume and firmness in the glute muscles due to aging or weight loss.

Because the device is hand-held, treatment is possible in previously harder to treat areas like the thighs, upper back, and biceps.

Another benefit of Emsculpt is that it is non-surgical, meaning that there is no scarring, downtime, or recovery period associated with the treatment. Guests can return to their normal activities immediately after they leave our clinic.

Emsculpt is typically administered in a series of four to six sessions, each lasting about 30 minutes. The number of treatments needed will depend on the individual’s goals and the state of the areas being treated.

Side-Effects of Body Sculpting

Emsculpt is a completely non-invasive and non-surgical treatment, which means there is a very low risk of serious side effects.

However, some patients may experience mild side effects such as:

  • Soreness or tenderness in the treated area: As Emsculpt causes supramaximal contractions in the muscles, the areas we treat may feel sore or tender for a few days after your first session. This is similar to the soreness felt after a workout and can be relieved with non-aspirin over-the-counter pain medication, such as Tylenol or generic acetaminophen tablets.
  • Bruising or redness: Some patients may experience mild bruising or redness in the treated area, which usually dissipates within a few days. Avoiding medications that thin the blood will help prevent bruising.
  • Swelling: Some patients may experience mild swelling in the treated area, which usually resolves within a few days. You can apply cold compresses to the affected areas if the swelling bothers you.
  • Headache: Some patients may experience a headache following the treatment, which can be relieved with over-the-counter pain medication.

It’s important to note that these side effects are generally mild and temporary. Most will be gone by your next session, and they will become less noticeable with each treatment.

You’ll reduce the risk of side-effects and maximize the results by having this treatment administered by a trained aesthetician at a licensed facility like Aesthetic 360 Lash & MedSpa. Licensing involves training that allows us to anticipate potential issues, and it gives us access to medical-grade products and equipment. This is far superior to products that are developed for home use.
